SRVUSD's record of nonfeasance, misfeasance, and sometimes malfeasance over the years is extensive — and goes well beyond misbehaviors reviewed on other pages here.

From grossly inappropriate curricula, to glaring mismanagement and neglect of facilities, to public deceit regarding financial condition and subsequent staff raises...,
...to attempting to win a bond measure with illegal ballots, to behind-scenes dealings with shameful and shameless individuals, to the hiding of similar-school API scores of only 5.6 or 5.7 out of 10...,

...more recently to the hiring of a biology teacher who'd previously been arrested for soliciting prostitution in Oakland: SRVUSD has been neck-deep in scandal for decades.

First up: the scandal which ended the 2021-2022 school year — the superintendent's amplifying of a crudely fabricated social media post which falsely impugned the Cal High Cheer-Stunt Team as "racists." Supt. Malloy's title for his District-wide letter in May, 2022 was "Cal High Racist Incident 5.23.22."
Malloy should have been fired summarily from his $400K salary (plus very large benefits). Instead, the radical-activist School Board extended his contract and raised his salary further.
In 2021, the radical 5-0 the District's administrators and radical 5-0 SRVUSD Board aadopted Stamped: Racism, Anti-Racism, and You as a 7th grade textbook. That adoption occurred despite the book's numerous problems, including the author's dishonest representation of crime and incarceration-rate correlations — and (among other problems) his recommendation of "N.W.A." and their celebration of thug-rapist criminal behavior in Straight Outta Compton as a source of "change and empowerment."

Atop those terrible stories: "SRVUSD employee [at John Baldwin] charged with possessing child porn" (August 26, 2022)
Baldwin has had a separate problem with elementary teachers there, i.e. teachers who evidently think it's OK for them to usurp parental rights, in order to admit 4th and 5th graders to an "LGBTQ+" Prism Club even when the parents refuse such involvement for their children.
July, 2025: SRVUSD settled for nearly $7 Million in a lawsuit involving sexual abuse by former teacher Ryan Weible, between 2009 and 2012 — once again, at San Ramon Valley High School. October, 2025: Former Teacher Nicholas Moseby, arrested three years earlier for sex crimes against minors, is finally convicted. December, 2025: Moseby is sentenced to 44 months in prison.
At some point, civil litigation against former teacher Nicholas Moseby is likely also to result in one or more multi-million dollar settlement(s). See the extended story of his own abuses, criminal finding of guilt, and imprisonment, in the add-on section below....
January, 2026: "In San Ramon Valley Unified, a teacher publicly singled out a student to ask about Jewish and Israeli customs, compared the Holocaust with the Israel-Hamas war, and allegedly said 'descendants of (Holocaust) survivors are perpetuating crimes worse than Nazis,' reported the East Bay Times, after examining a report on the matter by the California Department of Education.
CDE rejected portions of SRVUSD's own "Investigation Report," and required outside training "for all social studies teachers and administrators at San Ramon Valley High School on ensuring that instruction does not promote a discriminatory bias, with a particular emphasis on anti-Semitism."
The Nicholas Moseby Scandal
After all the rest above, there's the extensive reporting on a teacher arrested and charged with sexual offenses against minor children. The arrest occurred in September, 2022. The trial was delayed 8 times.
After that teacher was reported at San Ramon Valley High School for inappropriate behaviors, he was moved by the District to Diablo Vista Middle School, where the reported behaviors worsened.
Nicholas Moseby, the individual charged, was finally found guilty in Contra Costa Superior Court on October 17, 2025. That was three years after Moseby's arrest.

SRVUSD should have been especially sensitive about transferring Moseby to Diablo Vista MS, given previous child-porn arrest and sentencing of former teacher Michael Wolf there (Oct. 29, 2015).
Trial for Ex-SRVUSD Teacher Moseby Delayed An Eighth Time (Mar. 25, 2025).
Even a student publication noted SRVUSD's carelessness and irresponsibility in such matters (Mar. 1, 2023).
“Ex-SRVUSD teacher, cheer coach found guilty of most charges in child sex abuse case” was how DanvilleSanRamon.com reported the Moseby conviction story (Oct. 18, 2025).
“Danville cheer coach guilty of sexually abusing students in split verdict” was the headline for East Bay Times reporting of the October 17, 2025 verdict (Oct. 20, 2025).
"Jury adds convictions for former Danville teacher in second phase of teen sexual abuse trial" reported a follow-up DanvilleSanRamon.com article (Oct. 30, 2025). Moseby had already been found guilty of one felony count of distributing pornography to a minor, one felony count of a lewd act upon a child, two misdemeanor counts of child molestation and one misdemeanor count of sexual battery."
Now, Moseby has been found guilty of three aggravating circumstances: criminality involving a particularly vulnerable victim, planning and sophistication by the perpetrator, and the exploitation of a position of trust....
UPDATE 01-01-26: "Former [SRVUSD] Teacher Going to Jail" (East Bay Times, 01-01-26; Online Story entitled "Danville cheer coach sentenced to 3 years, 8 months for molesting students") Nicholas Moseby, finally sentenced after an October, 2025 finding of guilt after being arrested three years earlier, was convicted of "committing a lewd act on a child and sending harmful material to a child." After students had raised alarms about Moseby at San Ramon Valley High School, the District moved him to Diablo Vista Middle School, where he apparently committed the more serious acts.
Rational individuals would think that the Moseby scandal should sensitize SRVUSD administrators, as well as radical activist librarians and teachers, to the obvious dangers involved in grooming minors with pornographic materials, and the District's youngest children with gender-bender and other "LGBTQ+" read-alouds in SRVUSD's "queering the classroom" exercises.
But this is SRVUSD, where rationality seems to take a permanent vacation — and where many of the "professionals" seem to believe that children think like adults, because they are adults who think like children.

Long and short, those responsible for making such porn available to high school students should in fact not be permitted anywhere close to schools. They smell like groomers.
